what another lovely day!

well today i watched a lot of bad TV - the final episode of Britannia High, he he he!

and then went to the beach!! I walked down to the road to Freshwater beach and had a swim, it was 23 degrees in! LOVELY! its impossible to be grumpy at the beach! After that the lovely Catherine came for tea and then off i went to a wedding of people from Church.

I then was very domestic and made an apple pie check it out

And then max and i watched that 80's classic "overboard' with Goldie Horn!

He has been very interested in going outside... he hangs out by the door alot, i wonder if i should let him out?

What a lovely day!

Well its been an average week but today make up for everything!!!

First i slept in!! I did a first aid course in the city wed/thurs and had bible study on wed pm so i was really really tired and so went to sleep at 8.30pm last night! And more excitingly i slept though til quarter to 10!!

Second I saw a great movie! I went to the Mall ( warringah mall that is, although everyone here just calls it the mall) and saw Hes just not into you (for 8 bucks with a voucher!!) and it was GREAT!!! i really enjoyed it, i felt all warm and fuzzy after and smiley. I really like justin long and Ginnifer Goodwin.

While i was in the movies i got a call from Anglican retirement villages to say that i had a job! YAY! so now i have a position as a community care staff member. so the induction course is not next week but the week after and then its all go!

And lastly its a nice day so i bought some plants and panted a veggie patch in the back yard! yay for me :)

so what a lovely day! tonight i am going to try to hook up my new DVD player, many thanks to the lovely Emma for giving it to me!!

sleepy friday!

WEll today is a busy day! lots of errands to do on not very much sleep!

Let me first tell you about the week, I had my first scripture lessons on tuesday and although i was really really nervous i think its going to be a highlight. I actually like teaching kids! there were a couple of misshaps though...
1. I gave yr 2 the books for yr 3 - no wonder they couldnt understand it all!
2. at one point a little boy came up to me clutching his tooth with blood coming out his mouth...'errr miss thats his second one today!' seems he was very keen to loose his 2 front teeth :) so i washed his mouth out and wrapped the tooth up in a tissue for the tooth fairy :)

I also had my first after college training day. It was actually quite fun. although there were only 5 from my year, the year above is nice and we got put in groups for the next 3 years -yay my group is nice! And its nice not to want to kill everyone involved with the diocese! They were even quite helpful with my plans to find a full time job next year.

I feel very brave getting the E65 bus all the way into the city, although i didnt realise i needed a green travel ten, i didnt know that colour exisited! i though brown was as high as it went, ahhhh for my inner west naivity! though next time i will get the manly ferry home i think :)

So last night i really couldnt sleep and then a picture fell off the wall and smashed at 5.30am...wooo! so i'm a bit tired.

I also had to be in ultimo at 9am for the cleaners to do the carpets etc for the new tenants to move in. So here i am in broadway... having given the keys to the agent, smail st is no longer my home, but thats ok, i'm warming to freshwater and i might even get to the beach this weekend!

Well the lovely Katherine has tagged me ( side note: i have been longing to be tagged ever since I've been online and now the time is here!)

Here are the rules:

Here are the rules of the tag:

1. Grab the nearest book.

2. Open to page 56.

3. Find the fifth sentence.

4. Post the text of the next 2 to 5 sentences, along with these rules.

5. Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual book. Pick the CLOSEST!

6. Tag others to do the same!

'The first major alienation of the land from the Common was the are used for Victoria Barracks in 1841. Near the barracks a cricket ground was established in 1852 and the first recorded match there was in 1854 between the Garrison Club and the Royal Victoria Club.'

This is from 'A Pictorial history: South Sydney' the page was on Moore Park...

I think i will tag my sister Deb and Bec, all the other blogs I read are to high brow for tagging!!!

its been a while...

but here i am!!! back online... let me tell you briefly about the last week...

I spent most of the weekend and monday unpacking and trying to settle a stressed out cat... as you can see below he is pretty chilled now, hanging out on the new $50 lounge from vinnies....

Monday i wrote a talk for scripture teaching meeting and tuesday after staff meeting gave the talk at the meeting. I'm a bit scared about starting next week...so many kids!!! And rumour has it that the Harbord Primary kids are not as nice as the Curl Curl kids! I also had coffee with a lady from church which was fun!

Wednesday I went with my boss to visit an elderly lady and do a home communion. She is the mother of one of the ladies at Finley Presbyterian...small world! Wednesday night was first Bible study, sadly there were only 3 of us, but its a start!

Mum also arrived on wednesday night to visit, yay!!! On thursday we got the new blue lounge, went to ikea and got some stuff and then were exhausted!!!

Yesterday I had lunch with a lady from my old church and then Bec and Jo came over! yay!! Bec even drove....WE put together my chest of drawers from Ikea...and then had dinner and bec fixed my internet.. so i'm back online ofter a few days... i am so addicted!

Today Max and i slept in and I'm going to a wedding at my new church and then hanging out with some lovely gals tonight! woot!

Farewell Ultimo!

Well Today (a very HOT day) the removalists came and moved most of my stuff to my new digs in Freshwater!

Its weird, exciting and sad. I've lived in the inner west of sydney since i moved here for uni almost 11 years ago. I love the hussle an the bussle, and all the people i know. I've lived here in ultimo for 6 years i think, since 2002, except for a year off to live at college. I'm going to miss newtown thai, cafes, broadway shops...

BUT... I'm excited about moving to the beach! at the end of my new street is stairs down to the beach!! its around the corner from my new church and close to warringah mall :)

I am looking forward to unpacking and getting organised, my life has been in flux for a while. Once i can sit down at my desk and think about the year and plan i'll feel better.

I still need to get a 2 day a week job to suppliment my church pay.... its proving a bit harder than i though to find but i'm sure i'll get there!

look out for the housewarming news!!!!
